KEEPING YOUR HERBS FRESH

I use a lot of herbs in my cooking, not a day goes by without me throwing some cilantro, parsley or chives into what I’m making. Often I buy herbs, stick them in the fridge and the next day they’ve wilted and look old.

To keep your herbs fresh, put the stalks in a glass of water, cover with a plastic bag or place in a large ziplock, and put them in the fridge.  They will stay fresh for up to 6 days. You can thank me later!

Is it easy to grow your own herbs? Is it worth the efforts?

Hi Jonathan, thats a very good question. I don’t grow my own herbs at the moment but I have done in the past… It takes a lot of patience, love and care.

I think if you wanted to grow your own herbs it would be a good idea to look into it and find out which are the easiest to grow and maintain… don’t expect a full pot of parsley over night but when a substantial amount shoots up, it eventually, in my opinion will be well worth the efforts.
