GETTING BUSY WITH BLUE APRON

One of my favorite things to do when I have spare time is to get down and dirty in the kitchen and create new recipes but let me tell you, honestly, sometimes it gets really tiring – especially when trying to keep up with new recipes for all of you readers out there!

I was recently approached by Blue Apron , a new grocery style company based around the cooking experience. All you have to do is simply sign up to their subscription. Each week they will send you an incredible box of fresh ingredients, which you can make three different meals out of, recipes included of course, and you even get to choose them! Oh, and boy do they taste good!

As I’m kosher I went for the vegetarian option, but it did not disappoint. In my box I received enough ingredients for queso and pepper arepas, crispy corn cakes from Latin American , moroccan vegetable stew, which as I am part Syrian, definitely brought out my love for middle eastern flavors and lastly a whole wheat spaghetti with fiddleheads and spring onions. Choosing which dish I liked best was less than easy but at the end of the day, I have to go with the pasta… I know, I surprised myself too.
It’s around this time of year that fiddleheads crop up and I was really so excited to use them, it’s the little things in life, right? Side note: for those of you who are not familiar with fiddleheads, the are young ferns that are harvested before they have the chance to grow fully. They’re very cute looking spirals and really very tasty too.

Whether you are an avid chef or just want to get familiar with your kitchen, I highly recommend Blue Apron. Not only do they eliminate the hard work by coming up with the recipes for you but they also do all the shopping for you, so you won’t be running around like a headless chicken before your big dinner party. What do you think? Let me know!

  1. Sounds like a great idea! Sometimes doing the shopping is what seems like the most insurmountable part of dinner. Great photos too. 🙂
