July 4th or the entire period between June – September is the perfect excuse to scoff our faces with countless barbecue items, fried chicken, and french or “freedom” fries, if you will.
I’m a huge sucker for a good old-fashioned themed event — and may be part of a small bracket there — but it’s tricky for most of us to deny a long weekend of good food. July 4th is the one weekend, aside from thanksgiving, during which even the least patriotic scrooges among us give in to the temptation of stars and stripes on kitchen tables across the country. But lets throw in Memorial & Labor day too – one can never have too many long weekends as an excuse to pig out.
Fear not if you’re one of many to have jumped the gun and invited people over without anything to serve them. You won’t stay stuck on your summer menu for very long with these recipes from trusted food bloggers and friends to steer you in the right direction. You’ll blow all your friends and family away.
